Product description
Failure to comply with human rights and privacy law can have adverse consequences for employers. It is the responsibility of employers to set policies that do not have a discriminatory effect and to ensure that employees are informed of the policies.
Human Rights and Privacy Law Made Easy provides the practical essentials of human rights and privacy law relevant to the daily operations of businesses and organisations in New Zealand. Its primary function is to alert businesses and their employees to issues they may come across in the course of their work.
This plain English guide covers everything from discrimination and sexual and racial harassment to victimisation and smoking in the workplace. Key human rights legislation is summarised, highlighting the rights and obligations of both employers and employees.
Human Rights and Privacy Law Made Easy also addresses the right to privacy, a fundamental human right that is becoming increasingly important in the face of technological advances. Almost every person, organisation or business that holds personal information must comply with privacy legislation.
